The loch is located in a peaceful and tranquil setting on the edge of the village of Tarbolton. Depending on the type of fishing preferred there are four lochs. The Main Loch is fly-fishing only and the Triangle Loch is for both bait and bank with each activity restricted to specific areas. The Small Loch is used purely for catch and release and in front of the lodge is the large Bait Pond.

- The lochs are stocked on a weekly basis with rainbows and brown trout with an average size of 1.5 to 2lbs including a reasonable head of larger fish into double figures
