Harperrig is one of the most well known and long established brown trout fisheries within the central belt of Scotland. The reservoir covers 220 acres but is a sallow water with areas less than 3 meters deep. It lies on a boulder clay and peat bottom that offers a natural habitat for the wild brown trout. Harperrig Fisheries is now under new management and has newly been stocked with brown trout up to 2.5Ibs in weight.
