Barrow Lakes
Barrow Gurney, Bristol, Somerset, BS48 3The Barrow tanks consist of three lakes ranging in size from 60 acres to 25 acres. The three 'concrete bowl' type reservoirs are large enough to feel like a real challenge but not so big that they become intimidating. This makes them perfect waters for the angler wanting to learn the skills, flies and methods for fishing the larger Bristol waters such as Chew and Blagdon. More experienced anglers will still enjoy excellent fishing and challenges to their skills. The three tanks provide, arguably, the best bank fishing of all the Bristol Water fisheries with free rising fish in waters that are usually crystal clear. The clarity of the water makes fishing with small nymphs and dries the more successful method.
