Llyn Alaw is a large lowland reservoir about 777 acres in a rural setting in North Anglesey. It is well known for it's rich feeding that produces wild Brown Trout up to four pounds in weight yearly and allows stocked rainbow to double their weight in the several months after stocking. Llyn Alaw is one of the most productive lakes in Wales. Corixa, shrimp and rudd fry are the staple diet of the brown and rainbow trout. The stocking has been increased to 16,500 fish and float tubes may be used for the first time.A feature of the fishery is the large number of over wintered rainbow caught each spring,these are in superb condition and more like Sea Trout than stocked rainbows.
