Cleveley Mere is a beautiful peaceful 23 acre lake surrounded by fields, woodland and the River Wyre. The first trout were introduced in 1967 and have thrived in the lake ever since. There is a natural water in flow to the lake, which is rich in fly and insect life providing excellent growing conditions for Rainbow and Brown trout weighing up to 20lbs, which are supplemented by stocking at regular intervals. The maximum depth of the lake is 14 ft. with the North Eastern basin varying from 2-6 ft and the West, center and Southern sectors varying from 6-14 ft creating a rich and varied fishery.
