The Environment Agency's River Lune Fisheries consist of three beats situated on the lower river Lune, within easy reach of the City of Lancaster and the M6 Motorway.The three beats between them offer opportunities for both game and coarse fishing.

Halton Top Beat and lower beat are game fish only fisheries, both offering excellent opportunities for Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout fishing.The Top Beat provides good fishing in high water conditions and the Lower Beat opportunities for fly-fishing. These beats together offer mainly single bank fishing covering 1.5 miles, stretching from the Crook`O` Lune to Halton Village.

The Skerton Beat Offers fishing on both banks stretching for a distance of 2 miles in the city of Lancaster and provides both game and coarse fishing. Fly-fishing for Salmon and Sea Trout is available immediately below Skerton Weir in tidal water and above the weir coarse fishing for Roach, Dace and Bream.
